New Quartet Sings "Adeline"
After the band concert the quartet got together and gave many numbers and to finish up they went to DeGaris' tent to sing "The Rocky Road to Dublin," by request of said Sergeant Williams. He passed the cigarettes, which were tailor mades, to the quartet and if he hadn't run out he still would be giving them out on account of the commotion a tailor made causes in camp. The Company is now the possessor of a new find in the form of another quartet-Jack Tuttle, Red Bean, Roy Benson and Harry Petschow and it sounded like they were all homesick or else in great pain. They were almost given an ovation by Company D or Aurora in the form of rubbish but it was the closing number they sang that ballad entitled 'Sweet Adeline' and it sounded like they "Had a Line"-on.From the July 17, 1916 issue of 'The Elgin Daily Courier'
Red Bean On the Job.
"Red" Bean was seen carrying two empty pails last evening at sundown and now he is classed as a working man and it leaves some one else to claim the title of the lqazy man. It is now owned by Roy Benson. Ask the mess tent officials.
