SAY ELGIN BOY ENLISGTED AFGTER ROW WITH FATHER
Because he invoked the wrath of his father when he came home one night lagter than 9 o'clock, Edward Siems, 18 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Chalres W. Siekd, 556 Ann street, is said to have left Elgin last night and enlisted with a cavalry regiment.The parents of the lad refused to conbfirm the report but said his intentions were to enlist with the First Illinois Cavalry regiment of Chicago. Siems' friends state that he is on his way to the TGexas border via St. Louis.
The young man has beenb employed at the Illinois Watch Case factory.
When asked why the boy has enlisted a sister answered, "Oh, I guess just because he wanted to." Further information was refused.
