ELGIN SOON TO HAVE TWO LIEUTENANTS IN MEXICO AFTER VILLA
     Two former Elgin residents but now officers in the United States Army, may see active fighting with the Mexicans within a few days.
     Lieutenants John G. Thornell of the 4th U. S. Infantry regiment is stationed at Brownsville, Texas, near the Mexican border.   His wife formerly Mrie Chamberlin of this city and daughter of D. A. Chamberlin, Elgin real estate agent, is living with her parents at the present date.
     Word haw also been recieved by mr. Chamberlin that his son, Harry D. Chamberlin, lieutenant of the 5th U. S. Cavalry regiment is also probabley on the way to the front.   Lieutantd Chamberlin has been stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas, but has been detached from his regiment which has departed for the Mexican border.   He will rejoin his comrads at Fort Leavenworth, kansas.
     Both officers are well known in Elgin.

LIEUT. HARRY CHAMBERLIN WITH VILLA'S PURSUERS
     Lieut. Harry D. Chamberlin, 5th Cavalry U. W. A. is engaged in the pursuit of Pancho Villa.
     A telegram and subsequent letter received by his father, D. A. Chamberlin, says that half of the cavalry regiments to which he is assigned, crossed the border Tuesday, He writes;
     "We will not vbe in danger.   Half of our regiemnt was chosen to go.   Those of us who were selected were overjoyed at the prospect of action.   Those who had to stay behind were greatly diasppointed.
     Lieut. Chamberlin's regimet could not have proceeded far enought fo be in th battle with Villistas Thursday.   By this time, however, it is assureed that their fresher mounts may have caought up with the fatigued horses of Col. Dodd's Seventh which engaged the Villistas.
