LESLIE BANKS RETURNS FROM SAN ANTONIO TEX., HONORABLY DISCHARGED
Leslie Banke, 253 Douglas avenue, a musician in the ranks of Company E, stationed at San Antonio, Texas, returned to Elgin last night at 7 o'clock, after receiving an honorable discharge from the regular army. The Elgin boy's enlistment expired one week ago yesterday.
Banks stated that the weather is extremely hot in San Antonio and that everyone is suffering as a result, altho the boys are becoming used to it.
One thing is wished for by members of Company E, said Bugler Banks this morning, and that is the penny safety matches. A constant search for matches is being made by the soldiers.
